Director of Supported Living

Job Path supports people with developmental disabilities as they make choices about their lives. Our programs help people find satisfying employment, live in their own homes, and become part of community life.

Job Path is seeking a thoughtful, creative professional to lead its supported living initiative, which helps people make choices about where and with whom they would like to live; find affordable housing; and put in place the services and supports they need to thrive in their homes and in community life. The Supported Living program currently supports 25 people, including six who live in two-person households that receive around-the-clock staff services.

Responsibilities include:
Oversee overall program operations, ensuring that people receive quality services
  • Supervise/mentor two senior support workers who oversee 25 direct support professionals
  • Know each person and family supported by the program and ensure that they are engaged in ongoing person-centered planning and receive the services they need
  • Prepare annual budget; monitor expenses and revenues
  • Working with landlords, ensure that people's homes are well-maintained and safe
  • Make certain program is in compliance with quality assurance requirements
Design/implement new natural support arrangements that decrease reliance on shift staff

Lead the gradual growth of the program by setting up at least one new household a year

Serve as a member of Job Path's senior management team, participating in agency-wide policy-making and strategic planning

Qualifications: BA and at least three years of relevant experience, including supervisory/program management experience. MA; familiarity with Medicaid funding/regulations and residential services a plus.

Salary: 50+, depending upon qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits including tuition reimbursement and 403b plan with 5% employer match.

Community Support Worker (Part-Time)

Job Path supports people with developmental disabilities in their efforts to make choices about their lives. Job Path offers innovative alternatives to traditional services for individuals with severe disabilities, enabling people to launch careers, live in their own homes, and become part of community life.

We are seeking energetic, responsible, and creative individuals to help people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities participate in social and recreational activities in their communities and develop connections to their neighbors and neighborhoods.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide assistance to people as they work on paid and volunteer jobs and participate in sports, classes, social events and other community activities
  • Help participants learn to use public transportation, make purchases and handle money
  • Assist people to develop friendships and become contributing community members
  • Work with family and community members; develop connections to community organizations
  • Complete required paperwork
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Prior experience a plus, but not essential. We are seeking candidates who enjoy active, "people-oriented" work and are sensitive to the needs and preferences of people with disabilities.

Salary: $10.75 an hour; tuition reimbursement available after nine months

Live-in Companion

Established in 1978, Job Path is a pioneer in the development of strategies that enable people with developmental disabilities to join the workforce. Job Path offers innovative alternatives to traditional services for individuals with severe disabilities, enabling people to launch careers, live in their own homes, and become part of community life.

Job Description: The companion will live with two young women with developmental disabilities in a beautifully renovated building on Riverside Drive and 151st Street. Should be able to assist the two women with any emergencies. Schedule is from 10PM to 6AM five nights a week.

Qualifications: High school graduate. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. High energy level and creativity a plus.

Benefits: Live rent free and have private bedroom.
